TORONTO — Former Bell Media and Temple Street executive Trish Williams has been hired to oversee CBC’s drama, comedy and film slate.
The public broadcaster says Williams begins her role as executive director of scripted content Tuesday. She will report to Sally Catto, general manager of programming.
Wlliams assumes the post nearly two years after it was vacated by Tara Ellis in May 2017.
Williams most recently served as vice president of scripted programming at Temple Street Productions, where she oversaw production and the sourcing and development of new original series for prime-time cable, pay and conventional markets.
Before Temple Street, Williams was director of drama at Bell Media, where she headed original drama series and movies on channels including CTV, Space, Bravo, TMN/HBO Canada, and MUCH.
Her credits as co-executive producer include the Space drama “Killjoys” and season 4 of CTV’s “Saving Hope” and as a production executive on CTV’s “Flashpoint.”
