Three charged after loaded gun found in baby crib

Three men are facing charges after police found a loaded gun in a baby crib during a search of a home in Scarborough.

Police say as part of an investigation into guns and gangs, they obtained a search warrant for a home on Empringham Drive near Morningside Avenue and Sewells Road.

Police say several children were inside the home at the time of the search and a loaded .45 calibre firearm was found inside a baby crib.

Trayvon Palmer, 19, Jordan Marcelle, 25, and Kacey Downer, 22, are all facing several firearm offences while Palmer and Marcelle were also charged with possessing a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.

All three are scheduled to appear in court next week.
