A bylaw enforcement officer was sent to investigate the unauthorized closure of the Yonge and Bloor Streets intersection on Tuesday.
The saga began with a tweet from Toronto police that the intersection would be closed for a couple hours, but offered no reason why.

It was later determined the closure was due to pole construction. A police officer was seen directing traffic in the intersection.
The enforcement officer was deployed after City of Toronto staff were made aware of an unanticipated closure.
An investigation has been launched and the intersection was reopened.
City staff say they will provide an update if any actions are taken against the construction company
