The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides are honouring Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard by naming one of their newest pups after him.

Kawhi, a yellow golden retriever and lab cross, will be joining eight other puppies to train to be dog guides.

“We know Kawhi will make Kawhi Leonard proud and will be an MVP for Dog Guides Canada,” said Executive Director Sandy Turney

Kawhi was born on May 21, the same day the Raptors tied up their series with the Milwaukee Bucks with a Game 4 win.

The puppies will be placed with foster families until they are one year old, at which time they will start formal training to become a Dog Guide.
