Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of the GTA, while the rest of the region is under a watch.
The national weather agency said thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon.
“These thunderstorms may be capable of producing very strong wind gusts of 100 km/h, heavy downpours and hail,” the watch read.
The warning is in effect for Newmarket, Georgina, northern York Region, Northern Durham Region, and other areas. Click here for an updated list.
The potential for stormy weather comes as the humidex in the GTA is expected to soar to 36.
