Police are trying to find yet another patient who has been reported missing from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
58-year-old Robert McNamara was last seen at a medical facility around 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Queen Street and Ossington Avenue area.
He is described as white, five feet seven inches tall, with a thin build, greying hair, and a beard.
Police say McNamara has not been criminally charged, but should not be approached if seen.
CAMH has come under fire recently after a number of patients managed to slip away from the property.
This is the fifth reported case of a missing patient from a CAMH facility is recent weeks, although one was later called a “miscommunication.”
- On July 17, police said 47-year-old Zhebin Cong, who had been missing since July 3, fled the country the same day he went missing.
- On July 22, 27-year-old Ahmed Sualam was reported missing from the facility, but later found the same day.
- On July 30, 45-year-old Anthony Murdock was out with an escort on an accompanied pass when he walked away. He was later found in Brampton and arrested on Aug. 2.
- On July 31, 65-year-old Shawn O’Neil was reported missing from a CAMH halfway house near Dundas Street West and Crawford. However, this turned out to be a case of miscommunication and CAMH later said he was admitted into the facility, but the halfway house was not informed.
