DVP re-opened at Bayview/Bloor; watches & warnings cancelled

The Don Valley Parkway has re-opened at the Bayview/Bloor exit after flooding from the Don River forced its closure Saturday night.

A flood warning remains in effect from the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority as heavy rain saturated rivers, shorelines and streams within the GTA.
All watches and warnings from Environment Canada involving Toronto and the GTA as well as most of southern Ontario have now been cancelled.
Wind warnings are now in effect for the Niagara region with gusts of up to 100 km/h possible on Sunday morning. Those gusts are expected to ease around the noon time.
Freezing rain warnings are still in effect for much of eastern Ontario stretching from York-Durham all the way out to Ottawa.
A man also had to be rescued by Markham firefighters after he drove into a ditch and was stranded by surrounding flood waters.
York police say it happened between Major Mackenzie Drive and Elgin Mills at Highway 403. No one suffered any serious injuries and his vehicle has since been removed.
