PASADENA, Calif. (AP) _ Arrowhead Research Corp. (ARWR) on Wednesday reported a fiscal third-quarter loss of $13.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Pasadena, California-based company said it had a loss of 13 cents.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.
The drug developer posted revenue of $27.4 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $38.8 million.
Arrowhead Research shares have fallen 31% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $43.56, a rise of 60% in the last 12 months.
