A veteran member of the Ford government is retiring from provincial politics.
P-C MPP Jim Wilson has announced he’s retiring after 30 years at Queen’s Park.
It’s been a great run. But after 30 years, I’ve decided it’s time to retire from provincial politics. I’ll continue to serve Simcoe-Grey until the next election is called. Thank-you everyone. More info on my website: https://t.co/tBgfNvNeP0

Wilson says he will continue to serve the Simcoe-Grey riding until the next election is called.
He was first elected in 1990.
He served in the cabinets of three Ontario premiers and even temporarily led the P-C party on an interim basis between July 2014 and May 2015.
In a statement, Wilson says he doesn’t know what’s in store for him personally in the years to come, but says he will always have the best interests of Simcoe-Grey in mind and will continue to contribute in any way that he can.
