4 injured in Scarborough crash

Four people are in hospital after a crash in Scarborough.
The crash happened on McCowan Road near Finch Avenue East around 11 p.m. on Monday.
The driver, who is 20 years old, has life-threatening injuries.
The three other passengers — two women aged 21 and 25, and a 23-year-old man — have “varying degrees of injury,” police said.
Police say according to a report, the driver was heading south on McCowan when he sped up to pass the traffic ahead. He lost control of the vehicle, mounted a curb and hit a tree.
All four occupants had to extricated from the vehicle by firefighters.
