Ajax man dies in Hwy. 401 crash near Markham Road

A 52-year-old man from Ajax is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 401.

Emergency crews were called to the westbound express lanes near Markham Road just after 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Ontario provincial police say the man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, crashed his car into a commercial truck. The vehicle he was in then rolled over.

The man was ejected from the car.

The westbound express lanes were closed between Morningside Avenue and Markham Road and reopened around 11:45 p.m.
