A man was seriously injured in a stabbing near the Lawrence East subway station on Monday afternoon.
Toronto police were called to the scene near Lawrence Avenue East and Kennedy Road by a TTC employee around 2:40 p.m. for reports of someone being stabbed in the stomach.
Paramedics took a man to hospital with serious injuries. There is no further information about the victim or his condition at this time.
Police say the suspect is possibly a 15-year-old Black male, about five feet ten inches tall with a thin build and braids in his hair. He was wearing a camouflage print jacket at the time of the stabbing.
It is unclear if the stabbing occurred on a TTC train or bus. Trains were bypassing the station for a short time but regular service has since resume.
An investigation is ongoing.
