Man, 18, charged with first-degree-murder in Richmond Hill shooting

An 18-year-old Toronto man has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting in Richmond Hill in November.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Leisure Lane, in the Bathurst Street and Major Mackenzie Drive West area, around 6 p.m. on November 13.

According to police the 35-year-old victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds outside a home. He was rushed to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Amir Hossein Homayouni, also known as Danny.

Police say that during the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified and on Wednesday, Jaheim Claudius Johnson, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

There has been no word on a possible connection between the two men or a motive for the shooting.
