Two men are in hospital in serious condition and three people are in police custody after a stabbing overnight in Brampton.

Police said it happened just after midnight Monday, in the area of Semley Street and Durango Drive near Queen Street West and Chingaucousy Drive.

Authorities received 911 calls for two different stabbings within six minutes of each other.

A man in his 20s was found at the scene suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The second man, also in his 20s, was found on Tessler Crescent, near Bovaird Drive West and Main Street North. He was also suffering from a critical stab wound.

Both men were rushed to hospital. Police said both of their conditions have improved and they are now in serious but not life-threatening condition.

Police said an altercation occurred outside a vehicle on Durango Drive, ending with both victims being stabbed.

Officers canvassed the area overnight for witnesses or anyone who may have surveillance video of the area at the time, and will continue this morning.
