Toronto councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam had some strong words with regard to Premier Doug Ford’s language during the daily COVID-19 briefing on Tuesday.
When answering a question about his frustration regarding the Pfizer vaccine delays, Ford said if he were in the Prime Minister’s shoes he would “be up that guy’s [Pfizer’s] ying yang so far with a firecracker, he wouldn’t know what hit him.”
Wong-Tam tweeted soon after: “Premier threatens to sexually assault someone, if he doesn’t get what he wants.”
The premier’s office responded with a single-line statement saying: “We are not going to dignify this repugnant and divisive claim with a response.”
During the briefing, Ford was visibly upset and expressed his anger about the vaccine delays, questioning why smaller countries were receiving their vaccine shipments, while Canada will see an 80 per cent reduction in supply over the next month.
