A 39-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Scarborough Saturday, police said.

Investigators said they were called to the Kingston Road and Morningside Avenue area at around 10:19 p.m.

“A vehicle driving westbound on Kingston Road collided with an eastbound vehicle attempting to make a left turn to travel northbound on Morningside Avenue,” police said in a news release Sunday.

When first responders arrived, they discovered two people trapped in one of the vehicles. They were eventually freed and transported to a nearby trauma centre.

Paramedics said a 54-year-old woman suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they continue to investigate the incident.
