The Toronto Maple Leafs and veteran centre Jason Spezza agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension on Wednesday.
The team says it will be worth $750,000.
Spezza, who just recently turned 38, was one of Toronto’s biggest bargains this past season chipping in 10 goals and 20 assists in 54 regular-season games.
He was also productive in the first round of the playoffs against the Montreal Canadiens, with five points in seven games.
It will mark Spezza’s third season with his hometown Maple Leafs and 19th in total after joining the buds on a one-year deal in July 2019.
Spezza, a second overall selection of the Ottawa Senators in 2001, has racked up 970 points in 1,170 games throughout his 18-year career.
