Man, 21, dead in Scarborough Junction shooting

A 21-year-old man is dead following a late-night shooting in Toronto’s Scarborough Junction.

Police were called to the area of Midland and Danforth avenues around 11:30 p.m. on Friday for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside a car that had crashed into a light pole.

Life-saving measures were performed on scene before the man was rushed to hospital where he later died.

He’s been identified as O’Neal Oppong Gyeabour of Toronto.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation and are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or anyone who may have dashcam or video footage.

No suspect description has been released by police.
