Ontario reports over 700 new COVID-19 cases

Ontario is reporting 704 new COVID-19 cases and another seven deaths on Saturday.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 506 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 198 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

There are now 162 people in the ICU and 110 on ventilators due to COVID-19. Among the ICU patients, 155 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Another 645 cases are considered resolved, meaning there are now 5,021 active cases in the province.

There were a total 29,510 tests completed in the last 24 hours for a test positivity of 1.8 per cent.

There were another 37,333 vaccine doses administered in the last 24-hour period and 86 per cent of Ontarians 12 and older have received at least one dose while 81 per cent are now fully vaccinated.
