    Peel police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead early Monday morning in the area of Dixie Road and Peter Roberton Boulevard.

    Peel police have identified a man killed in an early morning shooting in Brampton on Tuesday.

    Officers were called to Dixie Road and Peter Roberton Boulevard just before 1 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

    A man was found at the scene and rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital in life-threatening condition. He died of his injuries in hospital.

    He has since been identified as Amanjot Bains, aged 36.

    Police say a suspect fled the area in a red vehicle, but no further details have been released.

    The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.
