COVID-19 exposure confirmed at overnight Brampton birthday event

Peel Public Health is advising of a possible COVID-19 exposure for anyone who attended an overnight birthday event in Brampton.

Health officials say guests who were at the event held at the Chandni Convention Centre on Gateway Boulevard on the weekend of October 23 and 24 should get tested immediately, “regardless of vaccination status.”

Officials did not indicate how many positive tests have been reported related to this event.

“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated and refuse testing must self-isolate for 20 days,” officials said in a release Wednesday. “Fully vaccinated individuals, who do not have any symptoms, do not need to isolate while waiting for their test results.”

Everyone is encouraged to follow all health precautions such as masking, physical distancing and limiting contacts while awaiting their test results.

Health officials say those going to get tested due to exposure at this event are asked to give testers the following outbreak number: 2253-2021-49523.
