Toronto police have released a security image of a man they’re seeking in relation to a suspicious incident where he was caught on video spraying an unknown substance into a dog bowl.
Police say it happened around 12:33 p.m. last Saturday at a storefront in the Queen Street East and Boulton Avenue area.
A video of the incident confirmed by Toronto police showed a man walk past the bowl and point at it. He walks out of the frame before returning seconds later.
He then appears to uncap a small bottle and spray something into the dog bowl before walking off.
“The owner of the business was alerted to the incident and removed the water bowl before any dogs or animals could drink from it,” police said in a release Wednesday.
Police have not revealed what was in the spray, but they’re warning the public to exercise caution when allowing your pet to drink from water in public spaces.
The man being sought is described by police as around five foot ten with a medium build. He has dark dark facial hair, with a possible goatee.
He was wearing:
- a black and white jacket
- black hooded sweater, black pants, black gloves
- grey shoes with white soles
- carrying a large wooden stick, bright lime green shopping bag and a red and pink backpack
