Christmas and Boxing Day land on the weekend this year which means the holidays will be observed on the 27th and 28th for some businesses and services.
It means an extra long weekend for many and could lead to some confusion as to what days things will be open and closed in the city.
In Toronto, almost all city attractions will be open on Boxing Day.
Many of the city-run skating rinks will remain open through the holidays, including Nathan Phillips Square and the Bentway. Full schedules for city-run rinks can be found here.
Casa Loma’s Christmas at the Castle (9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and Holiday Light Tour (5 p.m – 10 p.m.) is open throughout the holiday season including Boxing Day. Information and tickets are available at www.casaloma.ca
Almost all major movie theatres will operate every day through Christmas.
