The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has announced that all casinos and charitable gaming centres will temporarily close on Wednesday, as the province re-enters Step 2 of its reopening plan in a bid to stem the tide of Omicron.
“OLG is working with casino service providers on an orderly shutdown of all casinos across Ontario,” they said in a release. “OLG is also working with charitable gaming (cGaming) centre service providers to ensure a coordinated temporary shutdown of operations.”
The closure is expected to last until at least Jan. 26.
The OLG’s prize centre in Toronto will remain open and continue to pay out prizes by appointment only.
Lottery tickets can still be purchased across Ontario.
