Four new emergency child care centres for essential workers are set to open in Toronto on Monday.
The centres are for select groups who are unable to accommodate their children’s virtual learning until classes resume.
“We depend heavily on the many services that these workers provide,” said Mayor John Tory in a statement. “It is important that their families are supported during the current provincial health measures.”
The list of eligible workers include first responders, health care workers and public transit employees.
