Driver, vehicle sought in fatal hit-and-run in North York

Toronto police are still searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run at Weston Road and Knob Hill Drive over the weekend. Traffic Services provided a description of the vehicle and is pleading for witnesses.

Toronto police continue to search for the driver involved in a hit-and-run in North York over the weekend that left a 52-year-old man dead.

Police were called to the area of Weston Road and Knob Hill Drive, south of Highway 401, around 11 p.m. on Saturday.

The man was crossing Weston Road when police said a vehicle heading north on the street hit the pedestrian. The vehicle then fled the scene, continuing north on Weston.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead in hospital.

In an update on Tuesday, police said they are searching for the driver of a black 2004-2005 BMW 3 Series and released an image of the suspect vehicle.

Around 15 minutes after the crash, police said the vehicle was also seen in the area of Weston and Lawrence Avenue West.

Police also released an image of a similar vehicle (seen below) and highlighted the areas where they believe the vehicle would have been damaged from the crash:

  • damage to the front passenger side headlight/right turn assembly
  • missing passenger side mirror
  • broken/missing front lower left bumper grille insert
  • broken windshield passenger side

Police are asking anyone who was in the area of Weston and Lawrence, or up to Weston and Sheppard Avenue, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, and may have security or dash-cam footage to contact them.
