Police search for ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect wanted in stabbing

Toronto police are searching for a suspect wanted as part of an aggravated assault investigation.

Investigators say a man was involved in a verbal altercation with another individual near the intersection of Beverley Street and Dundas Street West around 7:30 p.m. Friday night.

Police say that during the altercation, the suspect retrieved a knife from his apartment and stabbed the man in the chest before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. An update on his condition has not been provided.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspect, described as five-foot-eight with a thin build, long red hair in a ponytail and a long, full red beard. He was last seen wearing a backwards black hat, dark backpack, brown camo jacket, white/cream button up shirt, dark pants, and black shoes with white soles.

Police add the suspect is believed to be armed with a large kitchen knife and should be considered armed and dangerous.
