With warmer weather on our doorsteps, parents and children can look forward to the City of Toronto’s summer offerings for CampTO.
Registration starts at 7 a.m. Tuesday for the 78,050 spaces available for the nine-week summer programs.
CampTO, which will run from July 4 until Sept. 2, will offer those aged 4-16 day camps, including nature activities, dance, drama, music, arts and crafts and interactive games.
“We want to make sure kids have a fun and safe summer camp experience. Our CampTO initiative offers a great camp experience for young people,” Mayor John Tory said in a release on Monday.
The City said programs will also be available for children and youth living with disabilities.
The summer programming also includes CampTO Plus — specialty camps at community centres and museums, with a focus on a particular interest or skill.
Those aged 13-17 can also register for Counsellor-In-Training (CIT) programs, which resume this year. The CIT program introduces youth on the essentials of being a camp counsellor.
Registration can be done online, via phone at 416-396-7378, or in-person at the following locations from 7 a.m. until noon:
- Centennial Recreation Centre (Scarborough)
- Driftwood Community Recreation Centre (Etobicoke)
- Wellesley Community Centre (Toronto East York)
- Dennis R. Timbrell Resource Centre (North York)
- Masaryk-Cowan Community Recreation Centre (Toronto East York – formerly West Toronto York)
The City is reminding residents that they need a family and client number to register. For those who don’t have one, they can set up a new account or access their existing information online or via phone. Click here for more information.
