Police investigate after 10 dead puppies found in Scarborough lot

Toronto police are investigating after the bodies of 10 puppies were located in a Scarborough parking lot.

Investigators say they responded to an animal complaint in the area of Cosentino Drive and Progress Avenue, east of Midland Avenue around 10 a.m. on Thursday.

They attended and, along with animal welfare officers, located the bodies of the puppies in plastic bags. Police say the puppies were approximately four months old.

“Investigators seek the public’s assistance identifying the individuals that placed the animals in the parking lot and are requesting any information on suspicious activities that may have occurred in the area,” police said in a release.
