Brampton high school shuts down after ‘chemical spray’ released, no injuries

A high school in Brampton has been closed for the day after police say an unknown chemical appears to have been sprayed inside the building.
Emergency crews were called to Sandalwood Heights Secondary School at Sandalwood Parkway East and Freshspring Drive, near Tobram Road, around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Police said they received reports of “some type of chemical spray” released in the school.
It is not yet known what the actual substance is but police said they received reports of it being pepper spray.
Police said students were sent home due to the air quality.
No injuries were reported.
