Child under 12 injured after being struck by vehicle in Brampton

A child under the age of 12 is in hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in Brampton. Emergency crews were called to Sandalwood Parkway East and Richvale Road North, near Kennedy Road North, just before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

A child under the age of 12 is in hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in Brampton.

Emergency crews were called to Sandalwood Parkway East and Richvale Road North, near Kennedy Road North, just before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said two vehicles were involved in a crash, in which one vehicle left the roadway and struck the child.

The child was rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries. In an update, police said her injuries are not life-threatening.

Both drivers remained at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The area was closed to traffic but has since reopened.
