Toronto police say a man has been arrested after he was allegedly connected to a stabbing and robbery in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue West area earlier this week.
On Sunday, police say two men were in a dispute when one of them stabbed the other in the chest twice before running away from the scene.
The 35-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.
The next day, it’s alleged the same man approached a 38-year-old man with an edged weapon and demanded the victim’s cell phone, who listened and gave up his device before the other man ran away. There were no injuries reported in this incident.
Police say on Tuesday, 28-year-old Adimabua “Derek” Chukwuka of Toronto was arrested and is now facing 10 charges, including aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon, robbery with a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime, and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
