Boy, 13, stabbed near playground at Toronto’s Christie Pits Park

A 13-year-old boy is in hospital after a stabbing that occurred near a playground at Christie Pits Park on Monday.

Toronto police were called to the park at Bloor Street West and Christie Street just after 12 p.m. for reports that a boy was slashed on the arm with a knife.

Police say the victim’s injuries are not life-threatening.

The suspect fled the area.

It is not yet known what led up to the stabbing.

Reports from the scene indicate police cruisers are at a school near the park but police have not said if the victim or suspect are from the school.
