York Regional Police (YRP) is on the hunt for two suspects after a man was stabbed multiple times before setting foot on a bus in Thornhill.
Police were called to Yonge Street and Royal Orchard Boulevard for a weapons call around 1:15 p.m. on Monday.
One man was located with stab wounds and transported to a trauma centre with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. He is expected to survive.
Investigators have since determined that the incident happened just before the victim got on a Viva bus.
It’s alleged that the victim and a second male suspect were waiting at a bus stop when the first male suspect exited the bus and stabbed the victim multiple times.
Police say it happened while the second suspect recorded the incident on his cell phone. Two men fled the scene on foot before police arrived.
The first suspect is described as male, Black, and approximately 5-foot-10 with short dark hair and braids. The second male suspect is described as tall and last seen wearing sunglasses.
Anyone with information, surveillance or dashcam footage is asked to come forward.
