Golf cart collides with truck in Etobicoke, driver in hospital with serious injuries

A man has been sent to hospital with serious injuries after the golf cart he was riding in collided with a vehicle. Mark Douglas has the details.

A man in his 30s is in hospital with serious injuries after a golf cart collided with a pickup truck in Etobicoke on Friday morning.

Toronto police responded to a call around 10:45 a.m after getting reports of a crash at Islington Avenue and Princess Margaret Boulevard, just south of Eglinton Avenue.

Paramedics tell CityNews the golf cart was badly hit and police confirm there was a significant amount of debris on the road.

The driver of the golf cart was assessed at the scene and transported to hospital. The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene.

The intersection where the crash took place is right next to the clubhouse of St. George’s Golf and Country Club.

Islington Avenue is closed in both directions south of Eglinton for the cleanup and investigation.
