One of the world’s biggest blockbusters this year has entered the MUST-WATCH Top 10! It’s got an incredibly strong chance to take the top spot, but how will it fare up against new content from Canada’s favourite sketch comedy group, or the world’s most beloved stuntmen? You’ll have to keep reading to find out!
Jackass 4.5

First up, we’re starting off with something for the Jackass fans!
Jackass 4.5 is the collection of deleted scenes from Jackass Forever, the things that were too gnarly to make the final cut. This follows the tradition established by the last few movies, where they always released the .5 version afterwards. Just like the big success for the aging Jackass crew, this also features the new members of Jackass as well showing the stuff that was almost too tough for them.

Night Sky is a new show starring Sissy Spacek (from Bloodline and Carrie) and J.K. Simmons (from Oz and Whiplash) as a married couple. For a while now, they’ve known of a strange portal in their backyard that transports them to another planet. They frequently travel there to sit and enjoy the unfamiliar view. One day, they find a young man (played by Chai Hansen from the 100) has come through the portal. They’re not sure if they can trust him. This leads to a crazy adventure involving an Argentinean mother, suspicious neighbours, and a cult.

RRR

Next up, it’s time for one of the biggest films of the 2020s!
RRR is an Indian film made in the Telugu language. It’s become the fourth highest grossing Indian film of all time, and captured the hearts of millions of people around the world. The film tells the tale of two men in 1920 who are fighting the British Raj, that’s Komaram Bheem (played by N.T. Rama Rao Jr.), and Alluri Sitarama Raju (played by Ram Charan). They’re also taking on the Nizamate of Hyderabad, who’s working with the Raj. This film is absolutely bonkers, showcasing some of the most intense action ever put to film!

The Kids in the Hall: Comedy Punks is a documentary about the long lasting legacy of Canada’s favourite sketch comedians. It features interviews with several beloved comedians such as Janeane Garofalo, Fred Armisen, and even Lorne Michaels (the creator of Saturday Night Live). The documentary breaks down their formation, success in Canada and abroad, and what they’ve done in the years since the end of the fifth season.

The G Word with Adam Conover is a docuseries about that dreaded word, government. Conover previously made the show Adam Ruins Everything, a look at our modern life through an analytical millennial lens. His new show specifically focuses on the American government, and all the different aspects that go into every single issue the government tackles. From looking at all the checks and balances that gets food from the farm to your mouth, to what happens at all levels of government during a pandemic, to how change actually happens, this show breaks down the seemingly infinite complications and issues that make up the American government. And it features appearances from lots of surprise guests too!
