32-year-old man dead after truck crashes into ditch in Whitby

A 32-year-old Ajax man is dead and provincial police are investigating following a single-vehicle crash in Whitby on Friday morning.

The OPP says witnesses reported a black pickup truck in a ditch on the eastbound Highway 407 ramp to Lakeridge Road around 6 a.m.

Paramedics arrived and located one male occupant inside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating and have yet to determine a cause of the crash. They have not ruled out alcohol and lack of seatbelt restraints as contributing factors.
