A 14-year-old boy was arrested and faces charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint inside a Toronto apartment building.
Police were notified of a sexual assault on June 4 at a residential building in the Weston Road and Bellevue Crescent area, near the Humber River.
Investigators say the suspect followed one woman, his first target, as she came off an elevator. He then brandished a knife and attempted to force her into a stairwell.
The woman was able to break free and escape by entering her apartment building and locking the door behind her.
Police say the boy then entered a laundry room and targeted a different female victim, who was inside at the time. He sexually assaulted her at knifepoint and then fled the building.
Officers arrested a 14-year-old boy from Toronto in connection with the alleged incident. He’s facing two charges, including sexual assault with a weapon and assault with a weapon.
The youth will appear in a Toronto court on June 29. This individual cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
