Man in critical condition after being hit by TTC streetcar

A 46-year old man is in hospital with critical injuries after Toronto police officers say he was struck by a TTC streetcar Friday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Caledonia Road and St. Clair Avenue West just before 6:15 p.m. after receiving calls about a collision.

According to a statement issued by investigators, the man was hit by a westbound streetcar as he was walking south on Caledonia.

The exact nature of the man’s injuries weren’t clear, but officers said he had to be rushed to a hospital by paramedics with a police escort.

Meanwhile, officers said they’re trying to review dashcam footage from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision.
