Toronto police respond to separate stabbing, shooting calls

Toronto police responded to separate calls for a stabbing and shooting on Friday night.

Police found a man with stab wounds in the Bathurst Street and Finch Avenue West area just before 9 p.m. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

There’s no word on a suspect.

Around the same time there were reports of shots fired in the Danforth Avenue and Ellerbeck Street area.

Police on scene confirmed that a gun was fired, locating multiple shell casings in the area.

There are no reported injuries.

Police have closed Broadview Avenue at Browning Avenue and are warning drivers in the area to expect delays.
