Pizza at Tim Hortons. All in, or pass?
Nothing says a double-double coffee like ordering a pizza to go, but that’s what Tim Hortons is experimenting with these days.
Timmies is introducing flatbread-style pizzas at 20 locations across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in the coming weeks.
There will be a variety of pies to choose from, including traditional pepperoni and sausage, but the real catch here is the price.
Tim Hortons is expected to offer up the new pizzas at around $6.99 to $7.99 as the Canadian coffee company looks at boosting sales specifically in the evening and late-night hours.
The latest figures show that Tim Hortons is getting a four per cent market share in the later part of the day as sales continue to skyrocket in the morning hours.
The CEO of Tim Hortons‘ parent company said recently that the quick service chain generated sales in its latest quarter above pre-pandemic levels for the first time since the onset of COVID-19, but the business is still being affected by a slower return to offices in regions like Toronto.
Restaurant Brands International (RBI) has seen sales grow 14 per cent in the second quarter, although they were down compared to the same time in 2021.
The introduction of pizza follows a recent breakfast menu addition of the Tim Hortons Maple Bacon Breakfast Sandwiches, announced in early August.
The lineup of Tim Hortons Maple Bacon Breakfast Sandwiches includes Farmer’s Wraps, Classic or Specialty Bagel BELTs, and Breakfast Sandwiches with an English Muffin or Homestyle Biscuit.
Tim Hortons has also benefitted from its collaboration with pop star Justin Bieber and the “Timbiebs” menu, which incorporated a “Biebs Brew” ahead of the summer.
