What are Ontario post-secondary schools’ COVID-19 policies ahead of fall semester

With just a few weeks before post-secondary students head back to school, colleges and universities across Ontario are updating their COVID-19 policies before the start of the fall semester.

Several institutions have removed the majority of their mandates ahead of the 2022/2023 school year, but some will still be requiring masks and COVID-19 vaccinations.

Brock University

  • Masks: required in instructional spaces
  • COVID-19 vaccination: not required

Guelph University:

  • Masks: required in “designated areas”
  • COVID-19 vaccination: not required

OCAD University:

  • Masks: required in learning spaces
  • COVID-19 vaccination: not required

Ontario Tech University:

  • Masks: required in all campus buildings
  • COVID-19 vaccination: not required

Seneca College:

  • Masks: required in learning spaces
  • COVID-19 vaccination: must be fully vaccinated as defined by Public Health (requirement being dropped Jan. 1)

University of Toronto:

  • Masks: not required
  • COVID-19 vaccination: two doses and a booster required for residence, not required for other students

Western University:

  • Masks: required in instructional spaces
  • COVID-19 vaccination: two doses and a booster required for access to all campuses

Wilfred Laurier University:

  • Masks: required in instructional spaces
  • COVID-19 vaccination: not required

University of Windsor:

  • Masks: required in learning spaces
  • COVID-19 vaccination: not required

Masks and proof of COVID-19 vaccination are not required at the following Ontario universities and colleges:
