Suspect arrested after police say 2 women sexually assaulted in same Richmond Hill area

A male suspect has been arrested after York Regional Police officers allege two women near the same intersection were sexually assaulted Saturday evening.
According to a statement issued by the police service Tuesday morning, the first incident occurred at around 5 p.m. close to the intersection of Lucas Street and Driscoll Road, west of Yonge Street and Elgin Mills Road West.
Officers said the female victim was outside her home when the suspect riding a bicycle began speaking with her. They alleged the suspect “grabbed her and touched her in a sexual manner.” Investigators said she called police as the suspect took off.
Police are seeking witnesses after two separate sexual assault incidents in the area of Lucas St. and Driscoll Rd., Richmond Hill by a male suspect on a bicycle.

Almost two hours later officers said a female victim was walking in the same area as a male suspect on a bicycle began speaking with her and tried to get her phone number. Investigators said as she tried to walk away, the suspect “grabbed her and touched her in a sexual manner.”
The statement said a person was taken into custody. Officers didn’t say what, if any, charges were laid.
Investigators also said they’re “still determining” if the two incidents are connected.
