Boy, 15, killed in early morning shooting in North York

A 15-year-old boy is dead following an early morning shooting in North York.

Police were called to an apartment on Keele Street, north of Sheppard Avenue West, just before 1 a.m. Saturday for reports someone had been shot.

Upon arriving they discovered a young teen suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby trauma centre in life-threatening condition.

Police confirmed Saturday afternoon the boy was pronounced dead in hospital.

He has been identified as Shalldon Samuda of Toronto.

A firearm was recovered at the scene but no suspect description has been provided at this time.
