Arrest made months after fatal shooting of Toronto man

One man is facing a second-degree murder charge in relation to a homicide in North York.

On the evening of May 9, Toronto police responded to reports of gunshots heard around 8:30 p.m. in a parking lot in the area of Jane Street and Wilson Avenue.

A man was found with gunshot wounds and assessed by paramedics before he was declared dead at the scene.

Police later determined that a vehicle was carjacked by the suspect, who left through the parking lot of Sheridan Mall.

The homicide victim was identified as 32-year-old Calvin Andre Scott of Toronto.

On Tuesday, police arrested 28-year-old Nashon Marshall of Toronto. Marshall faces a second-degree murder charge and robbery with a firearm.

He will appear in court on Wednesday.
