A 31-year-old Quebec man is facing impaired driving charges after a wild police takedown in Brampton that was caught on tape.

Video posted to social media shows a white Jeep crashing into multiple cars and objects while trying to evade several police cruisers.

Police say just after 3 p.m. Thursday, they were alerted to the vehicle driving erratically in the area of Queen Street West and Chinguacousy Road.

The posted video shows the driver attempting to escape officers and hitting several other vehicles and a pole, before driving up on a lawn and striking a tree.

One Twitter user posted a video that appeared to show the takedown and arrest of the suspect. Another user posted a photo saying they witnessed the Jeep jump the curb and drive along the sidewalk before running a red light.

Police say the driver was eventually taken into custody near Chinguacousy and Drinkwater roads.

“No physical injuries were sustained to pedestrians, police or involved occupants of the vehicle,” police said.

Yudhbir Randhawa of St. Constant, Que., has been charged with a number of impaired driving offences including possession of heroine and methamphetamines, and flight from a peace officer.

Police say Randhawa has previously been convicted for dangerous driving and other drug-related offences.

Two other passengers in the Jeep were also taken into custody. Harpreet Saggu, 41, from Brampton, and Jashanpreet Singh, 23, from Lasalle, Que., have been charged with drug-related offences.
