Toronto councillors vote to give themselves a 24% raise

    UP NEXT:

Despite criminal charges that threaten his campaign, Michael Thompson has been re-elected in Scarborough Centre

The Toronto municipal election was held on Monday and saw John Tory elected to his third-term as the city’s mayor.

While the incumbents faired how incumbents generally fair in most municipal elections, there was one surprising result with longtime councillor Mark Grimes losing his council seat in Ward 3.

In the end there will be nine new faces on city council, including two former councillors returning from a hiatus.

Election results from across the Greater Toronto Area can be found here.

Here are the 25 city councillors who were elected on Monday night.
