Woman stabbed to death in Milton, suspect in custody: Halton police

Halton police say a suspect is in custody after a woman was stabbed to death in Milton on Tuesday night.
Officers were called to a residence in the Farmstead Drive and Gosford Crescent area at around 5:45 p.m. and found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries.
She was rushed to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Police earlier tweeted out that they were looking for 40-year-old Asad Rasheed as a suspect in the case.

Police tell CityNews Rasheed was later arrested. He has since been charged with second-degree murder and will be held in custody pending a court appearance on Nov. 28.
No other suspects are being sought.
UPDATE: Police are saddened to report a female victim has been pronounced dead in hospital.
Police have taken a suspect into custody. Police not searching for additional suspects. No related threat to public.
