Canada in the World Cup: Viewing parties across the GTA

Viewing parties are being planned across the GTA to cheer Team Canada in the World Cup.

Canada will be taking on Croatia at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 27.


Toronto

Although the City of Toronto is not hosting a viewing party, you can watch the match at various bars and restaurants across the city, including Cafe Diplomatico on College Street, Real Sports on York Street, Elephant & Castle on King Street, Hemingway’s on Cumberland Street, High Park Brewery on Runnymede Road, The Smith House on College Street, Saint Johns Tavern on John Street, to name a few.

The Samsung Experience Store at the Eaton Centre is also having a Canada Soccer Watch Party. Space is limited, and reservations are required.

Brampton

The match will be broadcast live at Garden Square in downtown Brampton.

The square will be transformed during every Canada match and also feature life-size cut-outs of players for photo-taking, as well as picnic tables. Fans are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to ensure enough seating.

Mississauga

The City of Mississauga will be showing Team Canada’s matches and other World Cup games at Celebration Square. Admission to the viewing is free.

The International Sports Bar & Eatery, located on Cawthra Road, is also hosting a viewing party.

Richmond Hill

Watch parties will be held at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts to cheer on Team Canada.

Admission is free, and pre-registration is not required. Seating is first-come, first-served.

Vaughan

Viewing parties will be held at Vaughan City Hall for all of Team Canada’s matches. The City will also be hosting a viewing party at City Hall for the final on Sunday, Dec. 18.
