3 male youths arrested in stabbing of teenager at Scarborough high school

Three male teenagers, including two 14-year-old boys, have been arrested in connection with a stabbing at a Scarborough high school that seriously injured a student.

The incident happened on Monday, Nov. 14, at Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute, near Danforth Avenue and Birchmount Road, around 3 p.m.

The boy was initially rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but was eventually listed in stable condition. The stabbing happened inside the building, and the victim was confirmed as a Grade 12 student.

On Monday, police arrested three male youths — aged 17 and 14 — and charged them with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. They appeared in court earlier this morning.

The suspects were not identified through the province’s Youth Criminal Justice Act.

It’s the second stabbing incident at Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute dating back to the spring when a 14-year-old boy was injured on Apr. 25.
